Each badge states one fact about the listing that holds it. The rule behind every badge is written out below, so you can see what a badge means before you trust it.
No badge is for sale
You cannot buy a badge. Paying for a listing or a membership does not earn one, and neither does anything else you pay for here.
No badge measures ability
No badge says that anybody is a good lawyer. Each one counts something we can count, such as how often a person answers the people who write to them.
No badge is permanent
We calculate every badge again each day, using the last 365 days. A badge that stops being earned disappears within 45 days.
Badges a firm can earn
These badges measure how a firm treats the people who apply to it and write to it. None of them says anything about the quality of the firm's legal work.
Answers applicants (0 holders)

You earn this badge when at least 9 out of every 10 applications you received in the last year got a response from you, counted over at least 10 applications.

You can advertise a badge you hold
Every listing that holds a badge gives its owner a link to share and a snippet of code to put on their own website. Both of them lead back to this page, so anybody who sees the badge can read what it means.
There is one thing to check before you use a badge in your own advertising. A lawyer who advertises an award must follow their law society's marketing rules. Those rules generally require an award to be genuine and not misleading, and they forbid claims that one lawyer is better than another. We designed these badges to meet that standard: none of them is called best, top or number one, and none of them compares one holder against another. Each law society writes its own code, so please read yours before you advertise a badge.
